Pretty In Pink

As it was for many on the East coast, the long and cold winter here was a trial but the first signs of Spring are slowing showing up in Vermont. Of course, in northern New England we squeeze a fifth season in between Winter and Spring - that would be Mud Season. So while things outside are definitely not pretty, I'll tell you where they are - in the Main Street window of Simon Pearce's New Hampshire store where I have an installation on display for the month of April.

Using my favorite designs from the current collection at Simon Pearce and a few pieces from Henhurst's inventory, along with some newly purchased styling props, the setting invokes a Spring lunch party.

The seed of my inspiration was this charming glass bird. I imagined using a lot of them when I was conceptualizing the installation - I love the sense of whimsy they add.

Please stop by and see the store in person if you can! Simon Pearce at 15 South Main Street, Hanover, New Hampshire. Happy Spring!

  2. So soft and so beautiful. Lovely attention to detail as always. The book covers are so special. I am loving blush this spring, just gave my mother a pretty blush leather wallet for her birthday. What a pretty spring vignette to start my morning!

    1. Hi Alison, all of the glass and pottery is from Simon Pearce. Visit their website linked in the post above. Their designs (made here in Vermont!) are absolutely beautiful.

  8. It's just so lovely Phyllis, and I adore those glass birds. My Mother had had something like that, years ago, but they were nowhere to be found when we cleaned out her house… What a beautiful spring window, and now you just need the flowers outside to compliment it!
And, I love the new blog design and header. (It IS new, right??) Or have I missed something. Very nice design!

    1. Hi Libby, Thank you and, yes, I did redesign the blog. I spent last weekend working on it and would you believe I did it all by myself?!? Yes, the logo, graphics, layout - everything. I was online finding 'code' do the customizing. My husband was in a total state of shock because I have never before exhibited the slightest understanding of anything 'tech.' xo, Phyllis

  9. Really pretty, Phyllis. Love Simon Pearce and love your design there. Snow is finally melting here in upstate NY, so I completely understand your love of anything spring. Is this the store in Quechee Falls?

What a wonderful table setting and I could see using those charming birds on tables throughout the year. I love the soft, subtle sweetness of the blush color.
Hope your mud season is a short one this year.

  11. Those birds are beautiful and all your styling is gorgeous! I am glad we got in some spring skiing a couple weeks ago in Vermont. I think the temperatures are going to stay a little warmer from now on. I hope mud season goes quickly for you!

    1. Hi Leslie, Yes, it is very funny about the blog. Every time I figured out how to add or customize an element I would excitedly tell my husband, "I found this code online..." and he would say, "Who are you and what have you done with my wife?" ;-)
