"People who collect out of love are exempt from the dictates that govern traditional design, for there are no rules for true lovers." - Rose Tarlow in The Private House
What a great quote! Rose may be speaking of the clients who buy books in bulk for the pretty spines??? (wink) Love the little chair in the last picture! Happy Thursday Phyllis!
Phyllis, Lene of Essence of the Good Life, in Norway, posted about this "blog theft" extensively. Google helped her have the other site taken down as the bogus site was using her photography and her words. Please rethink your decision to leave blogging. We all adore you and your talent. Hop over to visit Lene, maybe her post will help you a bit. Sending love....
I like that first image. Such a creative way to display books. The dark woods are gorgeous!
I am so sorry about the blog being stolen. I've heard of this happen on a couple of occasions recently and it makes me angry and sad. There has to be a way of preventing this sort of activity?!
So sad to hear this. You are an inspiration and I hope to see you back. I just shared the Rose Tarlow quote with my best friend who is a fine art photographer. We were both inspired by it. If feels good to be given permission to do/be/have what you love.
Phyllis, I'm so sorry that someone's lack of scruples has resulted in you wanting to take a break from blogging. As someone who has also had their content and images stolen, I can appreciate you wanting to take some time away. It truly is a violation of something you have worked so hard on and hold dear. I hope to see you back in time, and please stay in touch!
Hi Phyllis, So sorry to hear that you are hanging up your Blogging hat but totally understand. Hope to see you back soon as I have always enjoyed and looked forward to your posts. Wishing you well for the future - and you know where we are if you miss your blogging friends. Lots of love, Liz x
Phyllis, I respect whatever decision is right for you but for selfish reasons I hope you might reconsider, or maybe take a break to think about it. Your voice and style are well regarded and I know many, including myself will miss you. I do hope we will see you back sooner than later, but either way wish you all great things!
I totally agree with everyone that wants you to stay on here! Thank you so much for your wonderful posts and especially for alerting me that my blog was also stolen! I do not want to give in to them though! My husband met with a lawyer this morning…we should talk! I do respect your decisions and if there is anything else I need to know please tell me! You are too good of a blogger to just leave, though and I Know you won't let them win! That is definitely not your style! It's just a sad state of affairs that people can even begin to copyright…steal, plagiarize…etc…so sad…and so unnecessary! On our own personal blogs, mind you! Whatever your decide I certainly understand but i would love to talk!
WHAT'S going on out there in blog land? What do they gain from this? For goodness sake is nothing exempt? I am so sad as I so look forward to your point of view ...you are an inspiration to me :(
Love this quote my Rose Tarlow and so true. I'm so sorry Phyllis this has happened to you and you'll be missed but we understand. I don't understand what others gain out of theft of someone else's work. Here's hoping you'll return quickly.
Phyllis, My blog is copied many times and even this moment it is! But I don't worry! I am going on with 'MY' Belgian Pearls. You have such a wonderful blog that we all love so don't go away!!! We will miss you!! Think about it!! xx Greet
Dear Phyllis, I understand your feelings regarding this theft. I would feel violated! That said, I hope that with a break you will come to the decision to return and share your positive energy and fabulous style with us. You always inspire me and are such a generous person, it's been a pleasure. xo, Karen
You made blogland better Phyllis. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and grace. Sometimes these things happen to allow letting go of one part of our lives a little easier. Enjoy this space. Best wishes and sincere thanks to your dedication to bringing joy and beauty into the homes and lives you touch. The world breathes easier. xob
I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I am a new to your blog, but I really enjoy it. It is very beautiful. I hope someone figures out a way to prevent this in the future.
Phyllis, I am so sorry to hear your blog was stolen. It makes me so angry when this sort of thing happens. Something really needs to be done to prevent blog theft. You work very hard to produce a beautiful blog. I don't blame you for wanting to stop at this point..although I wish you wouldn't! Best of luck with everything and please stop over to say hi whenever you have a chance. Take care, Shelley
Phyllis, first thank you for your talent I have learned so much style, elegance and have been so inspired thru your blog. I joined you a year ago and am crushed that someone has copied your site. Your right that your blog is a beautiful book and believe me i will be going back to view past blogs. Take Care a fan from Texas.
I am so sad about this, Phyllis. What an injustice to you and a loss of your inspirational posts to the rest of us. I hope you enjoy the break and will be back once this problem is resolved. All the best to you...Victoria
Phyllis...you will be greatly missed. I also have had someone take my blog. Its so hard to think people can be so dishonest....and I cant figure out for what purpose they would steal a blog! I just hate to think that they could win and keep doing this and someone like you who is so sweet, talented and honest wont be able to give and share your creativity in such a positive way...I hope you will visit and maybe come back to it....Lets talk soon!
phyllis, as another whom was violated i will not let them bring me down. no doubt they have popped up somewhere else, shame on them. i will not be stopped from sharing my voice, yours is a balm to me and many others, look at all the comments received!
you have a big place in blogland, let your voice be heard
